Guo Min: A Dedicated Cultivator in the Golf Industry

------ Two Decades of Commitment, Bridging the World Through Golf

Introduction:

On the green fields of golf, one woman has spent twenty years crafting her own legend. She is not only an event organizer and industry innovator, but also a promoter of Chinese culture and a practitioner of philanthropy. She is Guo Min – Secretary-General of the International Chinese Golf Invitational Tournament Organizing Committee and Executive Chairman of the Greater China Senior Golf Tour.

Pioneer in Event Organization: Building a Global Platform for Chinese Golf Exchange

In 2004, Guo Min organized the inaugural Shenzhen Team Golf Open at Shenzhen Jiulongshan Golf Course, marking a pivotal moment in her career. The following year, her publication Global Golf initiated the "General Cup" Golf Tournament and spearheaded the China Merchants Bank "Jinhui Sunflower Platinum Card" National Golf Friendship Tournament, pioneering a new chapter of cross-industry integration between golf and financial services.

In 2005, Guo Min co-founded the North America vs. China Golf Challenge (China Leg) alongside AAGA President Peter Moy and Captain Jiming. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, this event is held annually during the first week of November across China and various Asian countries. It has graced over 100 top-tier golf courses. For many overseas Chinese, participation is a profound way to express nostalgia, share experiences of life abroad, and witness China's rapid development. Through this international sporting platform, participants disseminate the essence of Chinese culture to the world.

In 2013, the International Chinese Golf Invitational Tournament, hosted by Yishida Sports and meticulously organized by Guo Min and her team, evolved beyond a mere sports competition. It became a comprehensive platform connecting the global Chinese community, fostering business cooperation, and promoting Chinese culture.

In 2015, Yishida Sports launched another initiative: the Greater China Senior Golf Tour, co-founded by Guo Min and TSPGA. Certified by the US PGA, it became a platform for amateur players to qualify professionally, filling a void in China's senior golf scene.

Since 2024, Guo Min has served as Deputy Secretary-General of the Asia's 100 Best Golf Courses Selection Committee. Leveraging her deep understanding of golf course operations and services, coupled with extensive golf tourism experience, she provides robust assurance for the fairness and professionalism of the selection process.

Trailblazer in Industry Innovation: Creating New Golf Service Models

Guo Min's innovations in industry service models are equally remarkable. In 2005, she pioneered the establishment of a 24-hour Call Center for Golf Services, providing professional support to clients such as China Merchants Bank, China Southern Airlines Pearl Card, and American Express, marking the beginning of golf service outsourcing.

In 2006, she led the China Construction Bank Golf Service Outsourcing Project, offering a comprehensive suite of services including golf tourism, driving range and course bookings, and tournament organization, delivering one-stop solutions. The following year, her team collaborated with CCB's headquarters to launch a co-branded golf credit card, further expanding the boundaries of golf services.

In 2009, Guo Min coordinated with tourism boards from Australia, Thailand, the UK, France, Germany, Spain, the USA, UAE, South Africa, and Mauritius to promote Global Golf Tourism. This initiative facilitated Chinese golf enthusiasts' exploration of the world while enhancing global understanding of Chinese golf.

During the 2016 Greater China Senior Golf Tour, she led participants from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and overseas to worship at the Mazu Ancestral Temple in Putian, Fujian, serving as a significant testament to the family bond across the strait.

Beyond her achievements in golf, Guo Min also serves as Executive Vice President of the Qingcheng Mountain Zhongxiao Culture Park Charity Elderly Care Base in Chengdu, Sichuan. She is dedicated to promoting traditional Chinese culture and advancing charitable elderly care initiatives, demonstrating the social responsibility of professionals within the golf industry.
